After our successful launch event at Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery it was lovely to be back in such inspiring and grand surroundings for our February workshop.
Our theme for this session was “project development” so the morning discussion centred around how to organise projects so that they run smoothly and also how to scale them from pilots to full-blow projects. As usual there was lively discussion with lots of shared advice and support among the attendees.
After a delicious lunch from a local company, Ginger Muffin, there was a chance for people to discuss their own ideas and discover what exciting things they could build together. Those who were already part-way through writing bids (because they’d attended earlier workshops) took advantage of the quiet space on the second floor of the museum to get more work done free from distractions. Our other attendees split into themed groups depending on their interests and discussed potential projects to see where there were gaps that needed to be filled – such as skills, knowledge, working partners.
Several initial ideas from the afternoon session became tentative projects and we’re already in the process of helping them to be developed.
